It could use some more USB ports (only has one) and battery life could be better but it can run an enormous library of PC games and the (touch) screen is beautiful. Speakers are good too. Some people have had issues with the SD card reader, I haven't tested on mine. But I am very happy with the purchase. Think of it as a budget gaming laptop in a handheld form factor. Just don't expect it to be quite as plug and play as the Steam Deck; some patching of the bios, operating system etc. is needed out of the box. But the Asus software helps with control and input and you quickly get used to how it works. Plus it has a two-year warranty. Recommended.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dean Loh from I'll give 5 star for better battery life Believe it or not I bought this not mainly for gaming but so that I could have a smaller device that runs on Windows for me to carry around to offer on the go support for my clients (I'm a webmaster). But of course, being able to enjoy some gaming while commuting is a big plus! My only pet peeve is the battery life. But I guess it's understandable considering having to support massive computing requirements with such a small battery, I'm glad I bought a big power bank on standby!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Anonymous from Broke down in 2 weeks Product cannot charge all of a sudden, with light use over a 2 weeks period. Sent for repair, and was told parts not available for the repair, and need to wait like 3 weeks in total. The time it needed for repair is longer than the time i had the device for. Disappointing quality. Does not allow for refund or replacement of product as well (told by Asus service center). Shame that the product had potential, but bad quality and support.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Trance from A Good First Attempt Asus’ ROG Ally is a good first attempt at making a Windows handheld. The device does have some software niggles, especially when connecting with external displays, switching modes, etc. The internal GPU is sufficient to drive the internal display, but struggles when games are played on external displays. A good device if you use it as it is, less polished if you try to do other things such as using it as a desktop PC for gaming.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kaylius from Good but really need improvements Very good gaming console and does deliver in terms of speed and graphics quality on a handheld/portable device! However, two really major downside that needs fixing is the SD card slot (very obvious flaw) and the battery life. Compared to other portable, it is already hard to bring Ally out without external battery sources, and really miss the mark on being portable when battery life runs out so fast.

For the SD card slot I felt that it is too close to the heat vent and the SD card will be hot to the touch. And battery lift is depend on the game setting so it is reasonable. Overall if you like to customise buttons on your console this is the right product.

Great speaker, local warranty...definitely thumbs-up for the first handheld from Asus. Yes overheating issue. Please don't ignore it althought I don't use the SD slot.
